Roshni Nadar takes over HCL Technologies from father Shiv Nadar
India’s richest woman, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, has taken over as the chairperson of HCL Technologies, one of the country’s leading IT companies.
With this, she has become the first woman to head a listed Indian IT company. Earlier, Roshni’s father and billionaire Shiv Nadar held the reins of the company for $ 8.9 billion. On
Friday, HCL Technologies announced that the company’s founder and chairman Shiv Nadar was stepping down and the company’s board of directors appointed his daughter Roshni as the company’s new chairperson with immediate effect.
Roshni did her schooling from Vasant Valley School in Delhi. She graduated in Communication from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He has an MBA degree from Kellogg School of Management.
Prior to joining HCL Corporation in 2009, Roshni worked as a news producer at Sky News UK and CNN America. Within a year of joining HCL Corp, Roshni was given the responsibility of executive director. He was appointed CEO of the company at the age of 27.
Roshni married Shikhar Malhotra in 2010. Malhotra is the Vice Chairman at HCL Healthcare. Roshni and Malhotra have two sons. Both sons are named Armaan and Jahan.
According to Hurun Rich List, Roshni is the richest woman in India with assets of Rs 36,800 crore. In 2019, she was ranked 54th in Forbes’ list of the 100 most powerful women in the world.
